Gentry Fox

Gentry Fox (born August 15th, 1991) is an American rapper, songwriter, recording artist, music producer, actor & director, designer, entrepreneur, & visionary from the town of Rock Springs in southwestern Wyoming. He is also the President, CEO, & Founder of the Rocky Mountain (USA) based hip-hop recording label, multimedia production company, & artistic collective SUB|ROK RECORDS. (www.subrokrecords.com)

Fox has been writing and producing beats since he was only 11 years old. He was considered a child prodigy in the early 2000s after creating a controversial pre-YouTube style website called "Gentry's World" in 2004. The website featured various skits and short films made by Gentry and his friends during a time in history when social media and video hosting were still in the stone age. Although he was unable to transition to a mainstream audience after the success of YouTube, it was during this time that he was able to sharpen his abilities as a promising actor & filmmaker. After spending several years on supervised probation and in and out of the court system, Fox decided to say farewell to the site in 2010 shortly before graduating from Independence High School in early 2011. He then decided to leave Rock Springs in pursuit of finding outside opportunities in the music and entertainment industry.

Upon relocating his residence from Wyoming to Salt Lake City, Utah in August 2011, Fox has since built a reputable relationship among his fellow peers and hip-hop influences alike. Linguistically demolishing only the most popular bars, venues, and events worldwide, Fox delivers incredibly passionate, intelligent, and vigorously hard-hitting lyricism over visceral neck-cramping boom-bap sample heavy-based production. His unique style is nostalgic of a conscious and poetic small-town storyteller fused with an almost aggressive street-smart mentality similar to that of the early 90's golden age & gangster rap eras.

After returning to his hometown of Rock Springs, Wyoming in the Summer of 2014, Fox began using his newfound success and resources to help solidify and nourish the growing local music scene while continuing to work behind the scenes building his SUB|ROK empire. His debut solo project "RARE DEMO SHIT (vol.1)" was released independently on his label SUB|ROK RECORDS in August 2014 and received critical acclaim from various media outlets worldwide. Fox's sophomore follow-up "RARE DEMO SHIT (vol.2)" was released five years later on November 11th, 2019, and his third album "The View From Nowhere" was released one year later on November 27th, 2020, both via SUB|ROK RECORDS. He also released a 20-track mixtape titled Project Alpha on May 27th, 2019, and a follow-up mixtape titled Project Bravo on December 21st, 2021.

Fox has shared the stage among some of the most influential names in rap and independent hip-hop including Murs (Felt, 3MG's, Living Legends)The Grouch (Living Legends), Eligh (Living Legends), DJ Abilities (Eyedea & Abilities), Mac Lethal (Rapper/YouTuber)One Be Lo (of Binary Star)Casual (Hieroglyphics)Toki Wright (Rhymesayers)Scarub (Living Legends)Reef The Lost Cauze (Army of the Pharaohs)Coolio, Lyrics Born, and many more.
